I started my CrossFit journey a couple of years ago after my husband , brothers & sister in law convinced me to give it a go. I didn't think I was fit enough to do CrossFit but quickly realised it was for everyone , I scaled the workouts as & when needed then slowly but surely after coaches telling me I was strong enough I was able to do the workouts as they were written. It felt good! Sometimes it didn't but I kept going back for more!
My favourite part about CrossFit is the olympic lifting , it's a real art form & I love it. I have noticed a difference in my body & confidence, I have a long way to go but I'm getting there.
We are very lucky in Brighton to have Connect, it's an amazing box, a real sense of community. If ever you need anything there is someone that will help you, even if it's not CrossFit related. I've made strong friendships and always feel welcome. Our 7 year old son even does the kids classes & loves them. He's learning so much & wants to be like his daddy doing the lifts one day! We bring him down with us when we train, he's always made to feel welcome , & loves playing around .
If any women out there are thinking about giving CrossFit a go. Do it! You won't regret it!
